It’s time to enjoy ice cream cones, and sit by the lake! Also in July -- blueberries, the first of our sweet corn, a fresh crop of Lodi apples and much more.
Cherries - July is the month for sweet and tart cherries. We don't have the best climate to grow cherries, so we take orders for 10-lb. tubs of freshly-pitted Michigan tart cherries for pies. Order your cherries in June for July pick up. Pitted tart cherries can be easily and quickly frozen for later use. Fresh Jumbo sweet cherries are available June - early August.
Apples - The apple varieties we grow in order of ripening are:
Lodi, Ginger Gold, Paula Red, Gala, McIntosh, Cortland, Jonathon, Honeycrisp, Swiss Gourmet, Senshu, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Melrose, Empire, Candy Crisp, Jonagold, Ida Red, Stayman-Winesap, Fuji, Braeburn, & Gold Rush. Call ahead to inquire about your favorite apple. Remember that Honeycrisp season is short so get your fill early!
